Eight Tweets for Prince Walid

He’ll Show The Princess He Too Can Tweet

Saudi Prince Buys Stake In Twitter

Prince Walid bin Talal of Saudi Arabia has taken a $300 million stake in…Twitter.[His] wife, Princess Ameerah Al-Taweel is an avid user with 84,000 followers.–New York Times, December 20, 2011, page B1

The Princess, half the Saudi kingdom and all of the Saudi Royal Family wonder if Prince Walid will get more Twitter followers than the Princess–without stirring up trouble. To prepare him, here are snappy tweets he can use as auto-responses to questions he’ll surely get:

I’m not trying to shake the kingdom up! Just trying to make some bucks. I’m a modern prince!

I only tweet after Friday prayers, but never during (like some people I know).

Thanks everyone for your ideas, but I will not monetize my twitter account.

Ask the Princess yourself. You have my permission.

No, I do not ride camels. I don’t even like camels. I have more Mercedes-Benzes than I can count. Clearly you have never been near a camel.

Of course the Princess knows how to drive. You should see her whiz around London.

Advice to my fellow Saudis: See what happens when you topple a regime? Where do you want to live: In Egypt or Saudi Arabia? C’mon!

You have a right to say whatever you want on Twitter. But I will take names of consumerists, so think before you tweet!
